Carlos and DaZhane’ first met in middle school at Walker Mill, where a simple friendship began. After graduation, life took us in different directions. Years passed, we each finished high school, and we stepped into adulthood—Carlos pursuing his career as an electrician and DaZhane’ earning her bachelor’s degree.

On the week of her graduation, Carlos reached out to congratulate her and suggested we catch up. What started as two old friends reconnecting quickly grew into something more. Our first time hanging out—Top Golf followed by Bonefish Grill—didn’t feel like a “first date” at the moment, but looking back, that’s exactly what it was. At the end of the night, DaZhane’ told Carlos, “I had a good time; I hope this isn’t the last time we hang out.” It wasn’t. Weekend after weekend, conversation after conversation, we built something real.

Six amazing years later, surrounded by family and friends, Carlos proposed to the woman he loves. And she said yes.

Now, we are excited to begin our forever.
